Side Door Barbecue
Everything was OK. The food came out so quickly it seemed like it was reheated and was so dry. The different meats all tasted so similar because they were smothered in what tasted like the same sauce. It was not fresh at all and the whole experience was very inauthentic. The service and drinks were fine. The amount of food you receive is worth the cost, but we stopped eating because it wasn’t enjoyable, not because we were satisfied. Overall it was pretty disappointing and we wouldn’t recommend it, there are other BBQ places nearby that offer more fresh and tasty options.

Fantastic experience. Plenty of options on the menu both food and drink. Booths were comfortable and service was good. Paid just over $300 for 6 adults with alcoholic beverages and everyone left full and happy. My only gripe would be that there wasn't a lot of space for my Granny to walk through the restaurant with her Walker, so accessibility could be better. Overall a good experience.

Great food, nice atmosphere and attentive staff, we had a great time. Parking was a bit of a challenge on a Saturday night but we managed to find a lot nearby. 4 of us ended up ordering 3 plates for one and were full when we finished. We ordered the Brisket, Southern Chicken and Pork Rib plates. The Brisket and Pork Rib were fabulous. The Southern Chicken pieces were slightly small but tasty. Wasn't too busy for a weekend night, so it was nice and comfortable. Pity we had no space for dessert so we'll have to return one day!

Delicious food that arrived quickly. The Austin platter was plenty of food to serve four people. Great flavours across the platter. Highly recommend a visit to Side Door Barbecue.

Food was bland. Not a lot of meat.No atmosphere and waitress had a personality of a brick. No attempt to pass drinks to right person just left them at end of the table. Hard seated booths.Very overpriced for food and drinks. $14 for a 376ml can of cider. Porkies in Maylands much better.

While I don't have the personal experience of what Texas barbecue has to offer in the lone star state, I'd say that Side Door Barbecue hit as close to the mark as they can.Delicious smoked meat and all the trimmings you'd expect for an affordable price.Order a combo plate for one with small sides included, or if you know what you're about pick your exact choice of meats and sides for a delectable time.What really sets the place apart though is the hospitality. Fast and friendly table service from the staff. For the table with a younger child seated next to us one of the kitchen staff came out to offer some extra veggies on the side. Real southern comfort!Of the sides we had, the chips were just slightly undercooked and underseasoned, the mac and cheese more than decent and the coleslaw a nice decoration (just personal opinion, I'm sure it's nice).The Hush puppies with blue cheese sauce were a standout favorite and a must try recommendation if you've never had them before!For the mains, the home made chili cheese sausage was crisp and juicy, the beef rib that perfect point of pulling -not falling- off the bone. Nice and smoky, too!Personally I wish the thick cuts of brisket I ordered were a little juicier, however this may be because I was served cuts from the flat and not the point. Next time (and there definitely will be a next time) I'll be asking if I can get a bit of both!

The food wasn't cooked in American BBQ style. No smoked food, only sauced with BBQ sauce. The meat wasn't enjoyable - not cooked to render any fat, texture wasn't close to what you'd exect. Collard greens and corn bread were OK.

Side Door Barbecue
My husband and I had takeaway dinner last Friday. We ordered heaps of BBQ meat (they were yummy to be fair) with sides. However, one of our sides, cornbread was MOULDY! Not just on one spot, but on almost all the edges. Lucky my husband spotted it or we'd end up having food poisoning. Didn't have the confidence to eat the remaining dishes. Contacted them via facebook messenger official with attached photos and proof o purchase but received no reply. Disappointed.
